Posture Corrective Chiropractic
Chiropractic research has been progressing by leaps and bounds, and I saw that by combining my 20 Years of extensive clinical chiropractic experience with modern evidence based posture corrective chiropractic techniques I could start to make a real difference for my patients. The technique is called Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP). It is the most advanced, comprehensive scientific approach to chiropractic services. It is a proven technique which corrects and restores normal structural alignment of the spine. CBP is supported by more research in the top peer reviewed scientific (medical) journals in the world, than any other chiropractic technique. We already know for over 100 years that chiropractic treatments work, but to bring to the next level with CBP (the Posture Correcting Technique), providing predictable results for our patients is a game changer in chiropractic healthcare. This is the new standard in corrective chiropractic care.
Mirror Image® is a term describing the principle behind Chiropractic BioPhysics® or CBP. Is a systematic protocol that provides proven methods with the intention to bring the spine back to the normal or ideal model of how it should look like and function. Mirror Image exercise, adjustments and traction is what we do to the affected region(s). What do you mean by that? Good question, let me explain it.
Your posture or structural alignment is evaluated by viewing the spine from the front to back and from the side. In these two views we can see the positioning of the spine in relation to what it should normally be. Once the abnormal positioning is identified we provide our proven techniques to restore the natural alignment of the spinal column. Mirror Imaging the body’s reflection of our skeletal system is what we do through the exercises, adjustments, and traction which we call spinal remodeling. For example one of the most common abnormal yet typical posture presents in the older generation. This is the individual who is hunched over pushing their head forward past the rest of the body and looking down. This positioning puts extensive abnormal stress and tension on the spinal cord, nerves, discs and bones of the spine. This is not good and most likely could’ve been avoided. Mirror Imaging is exactly how it sounds, we will literally force the spine in the opposite direction over time to restore this posture back to where it should be or close to it. This is a core principle of CBP and Posture Correcting Chiropractic, and it works!
Unless the patient is a child or has recently been injured, most of us have had our abnormal postural displacements for years and sometimes decades. Research has demonstrated that in order to see appreciable corrections, treatment must be performed for a minimum of 36 visits that could be performed 3 times per week for 12 weeks or 4 times per week for 9 weeks. A mini re-evaluation is performed every 12 visits and continued or changed protocol is confirmed. Re-X rays are performed at or around the 36 visit mark and comparison is made from original X rays. Depending on the specifics of the condition and the chronicity play a major factor in determining if the patient needs another round of 36 visits.
Once the patient is stable at an acceptable percentage of correction then the patients is done with corrective care and is welcomed to a maintenance program. At this point Maintenance could fluctuate from 1 to several times a month. Also supportive traction may or may not be necessary at that time. All this will be determined during your active course of corrective care and based on your condition. It’s really that simple.
